When are you entitled to overtime payment?
You are entitled for overtime payment when you are working after the end of the normal working time. This means that if your normal workday ends at 15.30 but you work until 17.30, then you are entitled to overtime payment for the hours after 15.30. This also even is your total weekly workhours is 37.
If you are not covered by a collective agreement, you will have to negotiate the overtime payment yourself.
What are the rates for working overtime?
There are different overtime rates for extra working hours in agriculture and horticulture (including nurseries).
Overtime in horticulture and nurseries
The first 2 hours you work more than your 7.5 hours a day: 1.3 2024: 238,59 DKK per hour
This also applies for the first 2 hours on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
After working more for two hours: 315,72 DKK per hour
This also applies for Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

There is a fixed hourly rate for the first 2 hours overtime in agriculture:

Special payments in agriculture
If you work before 6.00 am and after 18.00 there is an advanced pay. The allowance differs according to the sector of agriculture you work in.
Am I covered by a collective agreement?
