A “Dienstzettel” must contain following information:
- name and address of the employer
- name, birth date and address of the employee
- date on which the employment begins and, if it is short term, ends
- regulations about cancellation periods
- normal place of work
- short description of the job
- basic salary or wages
- non-cash benefits
- holiday entitlement
- normal working hours per week (and per day if possible)
- Other agreements or regulations
- Name and Address of employee pension fund
- Date, place and signature of the employer and employee
Demand the contract
Demand the written contract from your employer! In case of certain irregularities, you can rely on your contract.If you don’t have a written employment contract, you may work illegally. If you work illegally you will not have access to social security benefits and uncertainty of being paid for your work.
Be aware
For your own safety DO NOT sign a contract that you do not understand. Ask your colleagues, your union or the chamber for agricultural workers to explain your doubts to explain your doubts!
Document your work
Write down the hours of work. Take the addresses of your colleagues and ask them to sign your calendar or working record. If you can, take photos. This all will help you to prove your working activity in Court.
